Getting Jobs That Involve Travel Could Expand Your Experiences

By Zelma Hurley

There are many different types of jobs. There are those requiring you to get dirty and smelly. Some jobs have you sitting at a desk, all day. Many of them have you on your feet, such as a cashier or pharmacy technician. Then there are some of the more fun jobs that involve travel. These will get you going in many different directions from time to time and actually may be an education.

A travel agent is a person who must move about the country or world a bit. They do more than simply sit behind a desk and send people out and about. They need to know about some of the places they suggest so their clients know how to do it properly. This is actually a pretty fun position to be in and the savings can help you enjoy the sights even more.

The salesmen that move from town to city or across the country are known as traveling salesmen. This is a way to do the same thing you do in a store but you are doing it on the road. The trips can be educational as the products or services you represent will lead you into many different locations, all of which expose you to new experiences.

The many people who serve as roving supervisors for service companies will also qualify as this type of traveling job. Custodial cleaning companies need people to move around, checking on cleaners and help them with various tasks. Certified Public accountants spend a lot of time on the road especially if they are self employed.

A long haul trucking professional is certainly on the road a lot. This is fun for the right type of person especially if they do not mind spending days in the seat, manhandling the steering wheel and only getting food at a different restaurant each meal. Hotels, long stretches of yellow lines and a different bed every night could be fun if there is a big pay day at the end of the drive.

There are numbers of other jobs allowing this running around and some, of course, require it. There are flight attendants who help passengers get someplace and traveling nurses who assist people who have to go somewhere else. Retail buyers must go to where the products are made to ensure quality of workmanship. Tour guides help people understand many places the tour guide has to go to first.

Other positions will also require additional training or education, often a college degree, include traveling nurse, a consultant for various disciplines, Au pair and a geologist. Some of these occupations can be pursued only while traveling around are photographers, writers, international aid workers or English teachers.

When people think about driving for work or taking trips, they do not consider the miles some have to go just to get to the office. Many people appreciate the freedom and liberty, not to mention the fresh air they get when out running around for work. The opportunities, the sights and the learning they accomplish is just icing on the cake of a fun job.
